YORK, MAINE – (October 7, 2009) – Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty today announced the sale of Mayfair, the 2007 Museums of Old York's Decorator Show House. This is the fourth Decorator Show House that the agency, specializing in distinctive homes in all price ranges, has both listed and sold.
Mayfair is a late-19th-century, York Harbor Shingle-Style home built for a noted New York City silversmith. It offers many features typical of the grand seaside homes of its era: imposing porte-cochere, grand foyer with reception hall, veranda embracing ocean views, heirloom pine floors, five-panel doors with hand-turned wood knobs, and generous period windows. After a 2007 renovation, it was then selected as the Museums of Old York's Decorator Show House. Along with Mayfair, Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty recently sold Cragmere, the 3rd Decorator Show House (1992), 19th-century Hillside Cottage, the 17th Decorator Show House (2006), and the very first Decorator Show House on Juniper Lane (1990).
Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty, serving the communities of York, Kittery, Kittery Point, South Berwick, Eliot, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport, offers exclusive Sotheby’s International Realty marketing, advertising and referral services designed to attract well-qualified buyers to the firm’s property listings. In addition, the firm and its clients benefit from an association with the Sotheby’s auction house, which promotes real estate referral opportunities with auction house clientele.
Anne Erwin Sotheby's International Realty has had a leading presence in the southern Maine real estate market for over 25 years. Founded in 1980, the company offers a wide selection of oceanfront, ocean view, waterfront, water view, and distinctive homes in every price range in southern Maine including York, Cape Neddick, Kittery, Kittery Point, Ogunquit, Wells, Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, South Berwick, and Eliot.
Founded in 1976 to provide independent brokerages with a powerful marketing and referral program for luxury listings, the Sotheby’s International Realty network was designed to connect the finest independent real estate companies to the most prestigious clientele in the world. In February 2004, Realogy Corporation, a global provider of real estate and relocation services, entered into a long-term strategic alliance with Sotheby’s, the operator of the auction house. The agreement provided for the licensing of the Sotheby’s International Realty name and the development of a full franchise system by Realogy’s subsidiary, Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC. Affiliations in the system are granted only to brokerages and individuals meeting strict qualifications. Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC supports its affiliates with a host of operational, marketing, recruiting, educational and business development resources. Franchise affiliates also benefit from an association with the venerable Sotheby’s auction house, established in 1744. For more information, visit www.sothebysrealty.com.
