The Ackley Pond Rd. is a groomed ITS Trail in the winter, within 2 miles of Shin Pond Village's trail hub. The other 3 seasons the road is ATV and passenger vehicle multi-use. The brook can be canoed or kayaked up through the deadwater and provides ample oportunity to observe much of the wildlife native to Maine.
